Sloane at Six Months
Age: Six Months old
Weight: 13 lbs 7 oz
Eat
At six months old, Sloane is loving rice cereal and has tried sweet potatoes, peas and apples (although not a huge fan!). She has dropped the dream feed bottle and is now taking 5-6 bottles a day and solids 1-2 times a day. It’s exciting now that she is starting to eat solids and being able to finally use the high chair!
Sleep
Sloane sleeps pretty well. She goes to bed anywhere between 6:30pm to 7:30pm and wakes up anywhere from 4am to 6am (it’s rough). She’s also been waking up around midnight which we sort of expected this since we’re weening her off the dream feed bottle. She is also using a sleep sack now to sleep in which she uses at daycare. We haven’t had a lot of luck with it at home, but we’re determined to make it work.
Favorite Things
One of Sloane’s favorite toys at six months old is her If I Were a Bunny touch and feel book. She is such a curious little girl and loves exploring all of the different textures in this book (we also have If I Were a Unicorn – I’ve linked where you can buy each of these books in their titles). At six months old, she is also enjoying sitting up on her own and playing with her toys. We’ve been using the Boppy pillow as a support ring when she sits up on the ground – so save your Boppy for this age too!
Special Moments & Mama’s Experience
Taking Sloane to the beach at six months old was one of the most special moments of the summer. I love having mommy-daughter dates with her. Watching her face as she examined the water and her feet felt the sand was too funny. Holding her while she slept in my arms on the beach was priceless. I’m sad to see summer go, but looking forward yet again to what the next stage of this journey will bring.
